Extrion Limited Systems and Services
The Company
Based in the centre of England, Extrion Ltd. supplies software and associated services such as training and consultancy to manufacturing and distribution companies. Its principal products are proALPHA a world class ERP system and InfoZoom. "I liked it so much, I bought the company," was the slogan that made Victor Kiam and Remington shavers famous in 1979. Whilst Extrion are not in the market to buy InfoZoom's authors humanIT, it was Extrion's distribution of proALPHA and more specifically its Analyzer module that really impressed Extrion's management, they "really liked it", and concluded an agreement to distribute infoZoom - the basis of Analyzer - in the UK.
Extrion staff have decades of experience in implementing systems and consulting in the manufacturing and distribution sectors and in business intelligence (BI); in addition, Extrion has had a long association with the Progress Software Corporation. In the UK, these areas are ripe for the introduction of the innovative functionality that InfoZoom has to offer.
Good reasons for the use of InfoZoom
Data contained in many applications is very often difficult to access and visualise in ways that make good sense to individuals and collectively to management. We believe that InfoZoom provides a view of data that will expose the information in an organisation in ways and to an extent that cannot be matched by orthodox reporting and BI tools. Accuracy, timing and flexibility are the criteria that have to be met in order for a tool to be effective and efficient. Companies and their employees are disappearing under mountains of data; revenue and sales, personnel, production, statistics and other measures, and much, much more. Unfortunately, this data is rarely available in a suitable form to the right person at the right time. One has to wonder therefore how solid the information base really is, on which business decisions are made at the strategic and tactical level.
Time can be the biggest problem and therefore the biggest opportunity cost when turning pure data into information - information to be used in your regular decision making processes and at critical ad-hoc meetings. What data should be, or, can be accessed (e.g., an ERP system, an Excel spreadsheet, an Access database, or, all three)? Where is the data? Who has access to it? Who can interpret it correctly? How can this data be processed so that you have meaningful information on a certain issue? And how long does it take if the long-awaited result requires further analysis? Professionals spend between 5% and 15% of their time reading information, but up to 50% of their time searching for it .
InfoZoom meets all the criteria for a productive, efficient business tool. If it's BI, BAM, BPM, EBI, EII or CPM - that interest you or your company, InfoZoom is the single product for you. Visualise all accessible data from all types of data sources in a clear format, obtain flexible ad-hoc analyses, create new "knowledge values" for critical decisions and all of this simply and quickly.
